The contribution of Louis Braille, who devised the Braille script for the blind and visually challenged, is commemorated on this day. It increases awareness of the importance of braille as a form of communication in the fulfilment of the human rights of the blind and visually impaired. The braille language aims to bridge the gap between ordinary people and those with special needs.

There is also discussion about the Disabilities Act and Rights, as well as the detection, prevention, and rehabilitation of eye illnesses. This is in order to protect the human rights of blind and low-vision people, as well as to provide their fundamental requirements.
