Hypertension affects over a billion people, this day strives to promote awareness about its causes, effects on the body, and prevention techniques. The year's theme emphasizes using accurate blood pressure measuring methods to discover those with elevated blood pressure, control it and prevent life-threatening complications. A blood pressure check is also an important monitoring tool for hypertensives on medications.

High blood pressure is a leading cause of heart disease and stroke, and in severe cases, it can cause irreversible damage to the brain, vessels, kidneys, and other body organs. High blood pressure can be diagnosed early and managed properly, avoiding problems. The key to early diagnosis is reliable blood pressure measurement.

You can either check your blood pressure at a health care institution regularly or procure an automated blood pressure monitor and learn how to make use of it accurately. Also, know alarming values that warrant a visit to the doctor.

North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC) 2024 Day 2 Yet another exciting day at NACFC! I started with an interactive session on some research procedures, which I found helpful for my recruiting work and the data's impact on the population. I learned a lot from the CFTR genetics session, which aligns with one of my research group's projects, and the plenary session on The Journey to Understand and Advance Research in CFRD. North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC) 2024 Day 1 Another exciting day at the NACFC! I started with the morning educative session, reconnecting with my incredible research team and reviewing their insightful posters for the conference. It was also a great learning session at the endocrinology abstract presentations. I engaged in the roundtable discussion, which aligned closely with my research focus, the session on the CF disease mechanism, and the plenary session, which was a great opportunity to stay updated on the advancements in CF therapies.
