Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Awareness

𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗟𝗘𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗦𝗬 𝗗𝗔𝗬 31ST JANUARY 🅃🄷🄴🄼🄴: 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗗𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 The United for Dignity campaign encourages people to stand together in honoring the dignity of persons who have had leprosy. People with leprosy encounter mental health issues as a result of stigma, discrimination, and isolation. The campaign honors individuals who have lived with leprosy by sharing their inspiring tales and campaigning for mental health and the right to a dignified life free of disease-related stigma.  Early diagnosis and treatment can cure this condition, hence the goal of this campaign is to prevent social stigma, exclusion, and seclusion, which might delay presentation and early diagnosis.  World Leprosy Day is an occasion to honor people who have been touched by the disease, increase awareness of the disease's signs and symptoms, and combat the stigma that still exists. 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗡𝗘𝗚𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗦 (𝗡𝗧𝗗𝘀) 𝗗𝗔𝗬 (𝗪𝗡𝗧𝗗𝗗) 30TH JANUARY 🅃🄷🄴🄼🄴: 𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗚𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗣𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗬-𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗦 NTDs (neglected tropical diseases) are common in the world\"s poorest regions, where water quality, sanitation, and health care are poor.  The day offers an opportunity to focus on those who are impacted by NTDs and have limited or no access to prevention, treatment, or care services, as well as to address the inequities that characterise the disease.  These diseases are referred to as "neglected" because they are virtually absent from the global health agenda, receive little funding, and are linked to stigma and social exclusion. 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬 4𝚃𝙷 𝙹𝙰𝙽𝚄𝙰𝚁𝚈 The contribution of Louis Braille, who devised the Braille script for the blind and visually challenged, is commemorated on this day. It increases awareness of the importance of braille as a form of communication in the fulfilment of the human rights of the blind and visually impaired. The braille language aims to bridge the gap between ordinary people and those with special needs.  There is also discussion about the Disabilities Act and Rights, as well as the detection, prevention, and rehabilitation of eye illnesses. It is also observed to offer assistance to persons living with AIDS. HIV continues to be a major public health concern that affects millions of people around the world.  The theme emphasizes the importance of focusing extra attention on those who have been left behind, as well as the rising disparities in access to critical HIV services.
